Clubs and Associations | |
Each club prepares a plan of action at the beginning of the academic year. One teacher is nominated to co-ordinate the functioning of each club. The different clubs in the college are:- |
1. Daffodils - The English club This literary nook is an annex for the creative out put of students. It is often a venue for letting out hidden literary talents as well as for conducting seminars, film reviews, Inter collegiate competition in extempore speech, literary exhibition, language games, debate, manuscript magazine and the like. |
2. Ganithaka - Mathematics Club It conducts various Programmes like inter class, inter school Maths Quiz competitions, Mathematics related exhibitions, workshops and re-creative Programs. The aim of this club is to make Mathematics an interesting subject for all, to bring the public& practice teaching schools closer and to familiarize them with the functioning of the college. |
3. Scientia - The Physical Science club The science club functions with the aim of organizing future scientists. The various activities of the club are conducting seminars, field trips, quiz competitions, Inter school science project competition, debates, Mushroom cultivation & publication of manuscript. |
4. Bios - The Natural Science club The Natural Science Club conducts various programmes like Mushroom cultivation training programme, Herbal garden, seminars, workshops, medicinal plant exhibition cum sale, Azolla cultivation training progrmme, talk on environmental awareness, manuscript magazine publication and project competition. |
5. The Archives - The Social Science club. The Archives is a place of collection of historical documents. The intention of the club is to popularize and make the subject interesting through the different activities of the club. The various activities are publication of the manuscript magazine, field trip, seminars, workshops, exhibition, quiz competition, debates & projects. | |
6. Cybelites - The Nature club The members of the Nature Club are led with the motive of providing awareness towards environmental protection. Various community awareness programmes, seminars, film shows and exhibitions are henceforth arranged.
7. Carmel debating forum - The Debating club Various intercollegiate debates are conducted every year under the auspices of the debating club. It is a practicing ground for young minds for sharpening their wits and for developing communication skills.
8. Tourism Club-Globe trotters The aim of this club is to develop leadership qualities, to know about different places, their culture etc. To fulfill this aim, study tours and one day picnics are arranged. | |
9. Sports Club The sports club is meant to create healthy minds within healthy bodies. All the students of the College shall be ordinary members of the club and all the members of the staff shall be honorary members.
10. Parent-Teacher's association Mount Carmel College of Teacher Education for Women staunchly believes that the family offers the primary and significant milieu for each student to develop all round development. Hence an constant umbilical cord relationship is maintained between the college authorities and the parents/guardians of the students all over the years. Subsequently from the General Body, an Executive Committee consisting of President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer and adequate representatives are elected. The innovative measures and suggestions that evolved from the interaction between the Head of the Institution, parents and teachers enhance the effective functioning of the institution. |
